ARTIST INFORMATION
The Georgetown’s Festival of the Arts / Art In The Park is presented by The Georgetown Symphony Society, a non-profit organization with Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and more than 300 community volunteers. Proceeds from the event provide funding for the Georgetown Symphony. Art in The Park is the opening kick-off event for this 2 week-end festival. The Festival of the Arts features a classical music composer in a week of various performances of their celebrated works.
The 2008 classical composer is Mendelsohn the symposiums and concerts begin Thursday June 5th. Art In The Park celebrates the works of visual artists for the Festival of the Arts. At 8pm Saturday night the stage erupts with the beautiful sounds of Mendelsohn from the Temple Texas Symphony Orchestra culminating with a finally of sound and fireworks over the San Gabriel River. At 6pm the gate fee is waived and the patrons may flow in for free the last hours of the festival.
Please read the prospectus in its entirety. Artists applying are responsible for the information contained herein. The show reserves the right to refuse any application and rescind an extended invitation should the artist misrepresent himself or herself.
Artists may apply once per medium, collaborating artists may apply to participate at the event, but only joint work may be shown and sold. Both names must appear on all applications materials and both artists must contribute to the creation of the art pieces.
